Obey the Truth

Galatians 5:5-12

I. Our command as believers is to work out our faith in love. vs. 6

A. Our faith comes from hearing the Word of God. Rom. 10:14-17

B. Love must be defined as who God is. I John 4:7-12

II. Our foundation for our faith and love must be the truth. vs. 7-8

A. Watch out for subtle changes to God’s Word. vs. 9, 11; Jude 3-4

B. Read, study, meditate, and memorize Scripture. Ps. 1:1-2, 119:9-11; II Tim. 2:14-18

III. We must obey God’s command to speak truth in love. Eph. 4:11-16

A. Sometimes we must rebuke others harshly. vs. 10, 12

B. Always we must hold up the cross. vs. 11

Have I allowed tolerance to trump truth in my life? Am I willing to offend?
